Your Retreat Team

The retreat is being led by four uniquely talented and personable individuals.

Unjay

Unjay has been teaching yoga for eight years, and is registered with Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Yoga Teacher (E- RYT 200). He founded Shala Om in 2015 with the dual mission of spreading the light of authentic yoga and building local community. He was voted as one of the top twenty yoga teachers in Adelaide by an Advertiser poll in 2022, and Shala Om has won several awards in the fitness and health category nationally and internationally.

Unjay found yoga in a time of great upheaval in his personal and professional life and can testify to its sustaining and transformative power. In his teaching, he always seeks to meet his students where they are both in their practice and in their lives, making his classes accessible to everyone while providing a gentle challenge to extend students. He has a unique blend of spirituality, informality and humour in his presentation of Hatha and Yin Yoga. He uses tone drums, voice and singing bowls at the end of each class to provide an ethereal and relaxing live sound track for savasana.

When not doing yoga, Unjay may be found wandering the beach with or without crazy dogs, painting, playing music and writing. Also watching too much KDrama on Netflix.

Jennifer Driver

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I am formally qualified as an art therapist through the Ikon Institute of Australia, graduating in 2018; and have been running my own business since – Star Align Creative.

I generally work creatively with individuals within a community support context and have experience in facilitating group practice. However my reach also spans into the community toward disability support, aged care practice, and working with kids too! 🙂 I am currently also studying a Bachelor of Publishing/Creative Writing and Visual Culture through Curtin University in W.A.

My yoga practice has been an integral part of my wellbeing for the last 20 years, and reflectively the holistic benefits really are life changing, as anyone who loves yoga I think could agree with. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat, or together for some art making!

Namaste,

Jennifer

Queenie Tsoi

Queenie has a real passion for health and wellbeing. Her background is in aerial yoga, dance, massage and nutrition, with a Bachelor of Human Nutrition and multicultural experiences.

Queenie undertook yoga teacher training in Bali for her own benefit, and that profound journey motivated Queenie to return to the body & nature, start practising the art of self-healing, and share it to others.

Embracing interconnectedness of all things is the key to health and happiness.

Satyam

Hi, I’m Satyam.

I am a Sound Healer and Meditation Music Producer. I have been providing my support and services to the wellness and yoga community for the past 3 years, performing at various classes and events. Spending a substantial time with nature and animals has allowed me to create music that brings us to a space where we can let go, relax and experience deep peace and tranquility. As a multi instrumentalist, I specialise in Shakuhachi (Japanese flute) and other flutes from around the world, I do throat singing, harmonised polyphonic singing and play jaw harp as well-they allow me to go deeper.

As a frequent practitioner of Pranayama, Yoga and Meditation of various traditions in Mahayana Buddhism , Tibetan Buddhism and Sanātana Dharma, I’ve learned to quieten my mind and observe phenomena as they come, finding equilibrium in the torrents of chaos and distractions of life challenges. Integrity and Authenticity are the values which I hold closely in my heart.

It is my pleasure and honour to be able to co-create a comfortable, supporting and healing space, by sharing with you the music which is close to my heart. Let us surrender and allow ourselves to experience what the Universe has in store for us!
Namaste, Satyam
